Mirari Porras

Carolone or Change is a musical written by Jeanine Tesori and Tony Kushner that takes place in 1963 about a women who is a maid for a white, jewish family. The maid, Caroline, imagines the household appliances she uses everyday as people. My research for this show mainly included 1960s clothing and inspiration from what these appliances actually look like. For example, the washing machine and dryer have a white exterior and either water or heat on the inside. The bus gave me the most trouble, but I finally landed on a dipiction of a man who was just run over by a bus.
